The Aberystwyth Arts Centre is once again hosting the Abertoir Horror Festival and accepting entries from now until August 6th for both short films and features. Although this is a 'Horror' film festival it has previously been pointed out that the genre is a broad one and can include the provocative, edgy and bizarre as well as the classic gothic & slasher varieties of production.
MM thinks several of the competition entries we have received on this site so far could do well, together with one or two we haven't yet managed to get our hands on! (You know who you are, Giles Harding & Andy Wilton).
With a number of categories to apply for and cash prizes to be won, this festival has delivered added value in the past for being the showcase where previous winners have been picked up by UK sales agents 'Left Films', to promote them for International commercial distribution.
