The Actors are not required to bring anything save a headshot to the audition. They will be asked to read from the script and then asked to do an improvisation.

Casting notes for Love In The Asylum – Supernatural Horror
Evelyn
Age Range – 17 – 22 years
Accent – Well spoken
Character – Evelyn is young orphaned woman who has been exposed to extreme emotions but has very little knowledge of the outside world. She lives alone in a grand house that she will be removed from in spite of pressure from her Trustees. At first when we meet her she seems bright, naïve almost innocent but as the drama unfolds she reveals a much darker side, that includes a passion for taxidermy. Attractive, but not sterotypically so.
Accent – Well spoken

Tom
Age Range 29 – 34
Accent – Regional – Midlands, Yorkshire, Lancashire (anywhere in this part of the world)
Character – Tom is both a romantic, both physically and in nature. He is a tortured soul, who was committed to mental institution for life after he was arrested for Arson when a fire consumed his adopted family and their home. He is a solitary soul obsessed by wild life that he feels far removed from. When he escapes to find the nature of his true identity he is plummeted into a world from removed from anything he has ever known where he literally ends up fighting for his survival.

Character – Defining feature –red hair. Les is the son of the housekeeper Mrs. Lane who used to work as a housekeeper for Evelyn’s family. (She is also a fortune-teller and knows much about Evelyn’s family and the past). Les is infatuated by Evelyn, but this is never demonstrated physically. He appears slightly backward but is more aware than he lets on.

Character – Defining feature beautiful. Angela is Evelyn’s dead Aunt who haunts Tom’s dreams. For the pilot she only appears as a silhouette against a windows

Love In The Asylum is a Psychological Horror film. Yet this is not a slash and kill horror, but aims to provoke fear through the unseen as much as the seen. At heart a love story that explores a destructive relationship destroyed by the sins of the past. What is important is that the film has a psychological logic, but is peppered with touches of the supernatural and uncanny that propels us into an irrational world that the audience can identify with but is ultimately disturbed by.
The film has been in development for a while and the pilot is being shot as part of the Genre module on the MA program at the Met Film School. The artistic aim of the project is create a series of scenes that both invoke the feeling of suspense and horror, while drawing the audience into the minds of the central characters.
The Shoot will take place at Lypiatt Park from the 9 - 12/3/12 with the 12/3/12 as a 'contingency day' (which means just in case they need it because of bad weather or some other unforeseen delay) .
