THE SOUTHERN SCRIPT FESTIVAL Runs over the 17th & 18th MARCH 2012 at BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY.
After the huge success of the very first SSF held only last year Bournemouth Uni unveil another multifaceted extravaganza. Billed as "a festival for budding scriptwriters" this could swiftly become "THE festival for budding scriptwriters".
Here is what they tell us is on offer in their recent press release.

A festival for budding scriptwriters and all things writerly! Interested in writing for TV, Film, New Media, Radio and Theatre? Find out more about training and opportunities with workshops and industry speakers, pitching, network events and competitions!
“It’s not just for the students here. It’s reaching out to new and aspiring writers across the region. It will encourage, inspire and support all writers looking to hone their skills and will provide a great networking opportunity.” Rosie Cullen Festival Director
The festival offers an excellent opportunity for emerging scriptwriters to enhance their abilities, be informed of current trends in screenwriting education and to encourage a strong relationship between scriptwriting courses and the media industry.
A networking evening will provide further opportunities to ‘meet the professionals’ and fellow delegates.
White Lantern Film are again sponsoring the Festival’s main competition.
Guest speakers and panelists will include:-
Myles McLeod - BAFTA winning writer for animation, Frankensheep, Sticks, and Quiff and Boot. as well as writing for Wii/PlayStation games like SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis and iCarly.
Nick Fisher, - film and TV scriptwriter, Hustle, New Tricks, Diamond Geezer and created Manchild (starring Nigel Havers) and The Giblet Boys (Best Children's Drama BAFTA)
Christopher Hill – writer on Skins
Andrew Ellard (The IT Crowd, Red Dwarf)
John Foster (The Bill, Emmerdale, Letters from A Killer)
And many more!
A networking evening will provide further opportunities to ‘meet the professionals’ and fellow delegates.
The festival will take place at Bournemouth University in the new Kimmeridge House suite.
A buffet lunch is included in the ticket price: Full Price £50 (early bird £40) per day and Students £25 (early bird £20) per day. Early Bird group discount 5 tickets for the price of 4!!
