the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is open for submissions.

The 65 EIFF runs from June 15th to June 26th 2011, MM advises that you try to take advantage of getting in early and submit your work before the "Earlybird" deadline on Monday 13th December and you will enjoy a discounted entry fee, wait until the regular deadline in January and for a 'Short' film the fee rises by 50% from £20 - £30.

Submit online or download a postal submission form from the website - http://www.edfilmfest.org.uk/submissions

Or go through WITHOUTABOX  who are collaborating with EIFF in collecting submissions; apparently there are also discounts and other benefits available if you go through them.    https://www.withoutabox.com/03film/03t_fin/03t_fin_fest_01over.php?festival_id=1360
Please note that the rules state,
"Work that has previously been publicly screened or broadcast in Britain will not be accepted. This includes online screenings."
So sadly we will not be seeing any of the films already shown here on MM, but the EIFF has a massive reputation for discovering new talent and sticking to their 'premiere only' policy has enhanced its reputation as one of the foremost showcases in Europe.
